In 2007, Marion Construction embarked on converting a 6,500 SF commercial office space into a corporate cafeteria for a previous client. As one could imagine, plumbing for such a project was particularly challenging.
The project used state-of-the-art restaurant equipment, including a Universal Distribution System where future equipment can basically "plug-and-play" into gas, electric, and plumbing devices without having to provide further construction or renovations in the kitchen area.
Through Value Engineering, Marion Construction was able to complete the project for 12% less than the original budget estimate. The end result was an upscale dining facility for more than 600 corporate team members.
This project will be submitted in consideration for the 2008 Build Florida Award presented by the Associated General Contractors of America.
